WHAT IS A CORK OAK BARK PANEL AND HOW MUCH DOES IT WEIGH?
Our cork panels combine raw cork oak bark with technical cork, creating a stunning and eco-friendly wall feature. Every panel is carefully selected and kept in its natural, untreated state. Each panel covers roughly 0.55 m² and weighs about 9 lbs (approx. 4 kg).

HOW DO YOU INSTALL THE SELF-ADHESIVE VERSION OF CORK BARK?
Please note:
- Installing our self-adhesive cork bark panels is easy. First, let them acclimate in the room for at least 72 hours to avoid future warping.
- Make sure the wall is smooth, clean, and completely dry before installation.
- When ready, carefully peel off the backing and firmly press the panel onto the wall. No additional glue required for a lasting, beautiful result.
- The adhesive layer works best on flat, dust-free surfaces like drywall or furniture.
HOW DO YOU INSTALL CORK BARK PANELS USING GLUE?
Wakol D-3540 adhesive is our recommended and tested solution.
Here’s how to use it:
- Ensure the wall surface is flat, clean, and free of dust.
- Using a short nap roller, apply Wakol D-3540 adhesive evenly to both the back of the panel and the wall. Recommended usage is 150 to 250 g/m². 0.8 kg packs cover up to 4 m², while 2.5 kg packs handle around 12.5 m².
- Allow the glue to turn transparent — this signals that it's ready for bonding.
- Press the cork panel onto the wall gently, starting from the top down, ensuring secure adhesion.
- Apply the next panels. For the best look, stagger the panels instead of aligning them perfectly. You can install them vertically or horizontally.
- Once complete, let the adhesive fully cure — usually around 24 hours — before using the space.
IS IT NECESSARY TO LET CORK BARK ACCLIMATE BEFORE INSTALLING?
Absolutely — acclimation for 72 hours is key. This prevents unwanted warping and ensures your panels will look fantastic on your wall for years to come.
DOES CORK BARK PROVIDE INSULATION OR SOUND ABSORPTION?
Cork oak bark panels naturally offer mild insulation properties. Plus, their unique structure helps reduce echoes and dampen outside noise, giving your home a cozy, quiet feel.
