Think cork is just for wine bottles or memo boards? Not quite. Once ground into a fine powder, cork transforms into a highly practical material that retains its natural insulating performance. When loose, cork dust is ultra-lightweight, making it a go-to solution where weight matters.

Got questions? We’ve got all the details!

WHAT IS CORK DUST EXACTLY?

It’s a refined cork granulate—fine, dry, and super lightweight. Visually it’s similar to flour or fine sand, with a soft earthy tone typical of raw cork.

HOW CAN YOU USE CORK POWDER?

There’s no shortage of applications:

  • Construction: Add to mortar or concrete to increase thermal and acoustic insulation.
  • Fishing: Core ingredient in floating boilies—improves buoyancy and attracts more bites.
  • Fireworks: Useful in spark effects thanks to its flammable nature.
  • Glass manufacturing: Used as a mold-filling buffer.
  • Batteries & energy storage: Works as an insulating barrier.
  • 3D printing: Blended into filaments for texture and added natural content.
  • Paint & plaster finishes: Creates visual appeal while improving surface insulation.
  • Model building (trains, architecture, history): Widely used in miniature setups and dioramas.
  • Composite crafting: Combine with resin or glue for custom material fabrication.

IS IT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?

Absolutely—cork is a fully natural, renewable resource. It’s harvested without cutting down trees—the bark regenerates on its own.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO STORE IT?

Keep it in a sealed container in a cool and dry space. Avoid direct sunlight—this helps maintain its quality over time.

DOES IT KEEP ITS PROPERTIES AFTER MIXING?

Yes—it still insulates and remains low in weight. The only shift is in consistency—it becomes denser when integrated into a mix.

CAN IT BE USED AS BIOMASS?

Yes, definitely. It’s a clean, sustainable biomass material that supports green energy initiatives.

HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM GRANULATE?

Mainly the particle size: cork dust is ultra-fine, while granules are chunkier—think couscous versus flour. The coarsest form is known as cork chips.

WHAT’S THE TYPICAL DENSITY?

It depends on the grain size. For particles up to 0.25 mm, expect around 90–110 kg/m³. For sizes between 0.2–0.5 mm, it’s roughly 60–80 kg/m³.

HOW IS CORK DUST PRODUCED?

It’s made by grinding natural cork down into fine particles. Much like grinding coffee beans, the result is then sifted for a uniform consistency.

Cork rolls and panels get the job done in many cases — but when you're working with ultra-tight spaces, you need a finer solution. Cork dust is the cork equivalent of micro-precision: free-flowing, highly adaptable, and rooted in sustainability. Plastic-based options? Too bulky, too rigid, and, let’s face it — not even close to natural.

#1 SUPER LIGHT & INERT

Light as air — literally. Cork dust owes its featherweight nature to millions of air-filled micro-cells. It’s ridiculously easy to move, distribute, or blend into whatever medium you’re working with.

Here’s the kicker: it doesn’t chemically interact. That’s a game-changer when you’re adding it to adhesives, epoxies, or finishing plasters. Plus, it holds up against UV rays and resists breaking down, making it a go-to for outdoor settings too.

#2 ONE MATERIAL, COUNTLESS USE CASES

From thermal plaster mixes to noise-dampening applications and even hobby craft kits, cork dust shows up in a surprising number of industries. It’s especially effective in insulation recipes — giving your space warmth and peace in one blend.

What makes it so user-friendly? Its malleability. You can compress and shape it effortlessly. Makers, DIYers, and contractors alike appreciate how seamlessly it mixes with other materials for totally custom outcomes.

#3 EASY ON THE SKIN, SAFE FOR ALLERGIES

This stuff is non-irritating and allergy-friendly. No stinging, itching, or synthetic aftereffects — just a natural, gentle material that’s perfect for cleaner, greener workflows.

And yes, we’ve got the receipts. Our cork granules are backed by official hygiene certification from Poland’s National Institute of Public Health (PZH), affirming they’re safe and health-neutral. In fact, we’re the only brand in Poland offering certified cork filler at this standard.

#4 EARTH-FIRST AND ECO SMART

Cork is fully renewable and planet-positive. It’s harvested from the bark of cork oak trees — and here’s the cool part: the trees stay standing. The bark regenerates naturally, making the process completely forest-friendly.

A large share of our cork dust comes from upcycled sources — like old corkboards, bottle stoppers, or flooring scraps. That’s less landfill waste and more circular value. A textbook case of sustainability: efficient, eco-conscious, and future-ready.
