One of the biggest advantages of rolled cork is the freedom to size the material yourself. Unlike pre-cut cork sheets, a roll does not limit you to predetermined dimensions. Simply measure the amount required and cut it to fit your project. When working across a large area, using longer sections can also minimize seams and create a cleaner overall finish.

Cork rolls measuring 120 cm wide are a versatile option for wall finishing and wall coverings, furniture surfaces, and manufacturing applications that call for custom-sized pieces. Their generous width also makes them useful for larger decorative installations and a variety of technical projects.

Before installation, the cork should also be given time to adjust to the conditions in the room. Keep the material in the space where it will be installed for at least 72 hours before starting the project.

When attaching cork to a wall, we recommend a contact adhesive such as Wakol D-3540. Apply the adhesive to both the prepared surface and the back of the cork. Allow it to set until the adhesive layer becomes transparent before joining the two surfaces.

The ideal thickness depends mainly on how you intend to use the material. Choosing the thickest cork available does not necessarily mean it will be the best fit for your particular project.

Thinner cork rolls are especially useful for decorative surfaces and finishing work. They can be applied to walls, furniture, shelving, and other features where showcasing the natural look and texture of cork is the primary goal.

Planning to make a cork bulletin board for pinning up notes, photos, or plans? A thickness between 5 and 10 mm is a practical choice. Make sure to install the cork over a suitable backing material, such as fiberboard.

Cork rolls over 10 mm thick are generally selected for applications where insulation is a more important consideration.
