Latex glue

Working with natural materials like cork requires the right adhesive solution from the very beginning. Many people simply grab a standard glue without considering whether it’s actually designed for delicate or porous surfaces. Unfortunately, that often leads to weak bonding, wasted materials, and extra time spent fixing mistakes. Liquid Latex offers a flexible and reliable alternative for attaching cork surfaces and a wide range of other materials. Whether you're tackling decorative crafts, DIY projects, or creative applications, this versatile product can make the job much easier. FAQ – Natural Liquid Latex Adhesive

WHAT IS NATURAL LIQUID LATEX USED FOR?

Natural liquid latex is a professional-grade adhesive designed mainly for bonding natural materials such as cork. Its flexible formula allows surfaces to be joined efficiently while maintaining a clean finish. With an open working time of around 15 minutes, it gives users enough time for precise application and positioning. The product is available in several container sizes to suit different projects.

WHICH MATERIALS CAN BE BONDED WITH LATEX ADHESIVE?

Liquid latex performs especially well when used with materials such as:

  • natural cork,
  • leather,
  • felt,
  • foam materials,
  • organic and natural surfaces,
  • shoe inserts and insoles.

Keep in mind that certain fabrics may absorb or allow liquid latex to pass through, unlike synthetic leather materials.

For best adhesion results, press the bonded pieces firmly together and allow sufficient drying time according to the product instructions.

CAN LIQUID LATEX REPLACE CONTACT CEMENT?

No. Liquid latex serves a different purpose than traditional contact adhesives.

Contact cement is typically used for installing larger surfaces such as cork wall panels, cork flooring, or decorative coverings where long-term structural adhesion is required.

Liquid latex, on the other hand, is more suitable for detailed crafting, flexible material bonding, and decorative work involving cork, fabrics, or foam. It is commonly chosen when flexibility and appearance are more important than permanent structural installation.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO APPLY LATEX GLUE?

A brush or a spray application system is recommended for even coverage. Since the adhesive has a liquid consistency, drips and spills may occur during application. Any excess product should be cleaned immediately using water.

Before starting your project, carefully review the usage instructions and test the adhesive on a small area of the material first.

HOW SHOULD LIQUID LATEX BE STORED?

Store the adhesive in a cool, dry location inside a tightly sealed container. Under proper storage conditions, the product typically maintains its performance for up to 12 months. Avoid freezing temperatures, as frozen latex-based adhesive may lose its bonding properties permanently.

Natural liquid latex is a fast-setting adhesive widely used for projects involving natural materials. It bonds effectively to cork and leather while also working well with felt, PU foam, cardboard, and similar surfaces. Thanks to its fluid consistency, the adhesive spreads smoothly and creates a flexible bond after curing. Because of these properties, liquid latex is frequently used in leathercraft, footwear production, hobby projects, model making, and creative DIY applications. It is also popular in theatrical makeup and special effects production, where it can be used to create artificial wounds, skin textures, and realistic visual effects.
