WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF USING PARQUET VARNISH ON CORK FLOORS?

Its main role is to help cork floors stay beautiful longer and to make them tougher against everyday use. The varnish builds a strong, protective layer so your floor remains in great shape year after year.

WHAT SURFACES CAN THIS VARNISH BE USED ON?

It’s designed for both cork and wooden parquet. Cork’s porous nature lets the varnish penetrate deeply, creating a durable finish. Perfect for high-traffic spaces like living rooms, hallways, and kitchens.

Note: Only apply on raw cork. If the floor has already been sealed, a new layer won’t bond properly.

WHAT KIND OF FINISH DOES IT PROVIDE?

The result is a semi-matte look – subtle and classy. Unlike high gloss, it hides small scratches and dust while maintaining a natural appearance.

CAN I APPLY IT MYSELF?

Absolutely – this is a single-component varnish, ready to use straight from the container. No mixing with hardeners required. Quick, simple, and hassle-free.

HOW SHOULD I PREP THE FLOOR BEFOREHAND?

The surface needs to be smooth and dry. Ideally, the cork should have less than 12% moisture for proper adhesion.

Make sure to remove old finishes like oils, wax, grease, silicone, dust, or dirt. A clean base ensures the best finish and longer protection.

HOW DO I APPLY THE SEMI-MATTE VARNISH?

Shake well before applying.
If the cork was glued down, wait until the adhesive is completely dry.
Apply three coats with a roller. After the first coat, allow the floor to dry overnight so moisture can evaporate and the cork stabilizes. Before applying the last coat, lightly sand the surface.

HOW MUCH COVERAGE CAN I EXPECT?

On average, between 80 and 120 ml per 1 m², depending on the floor’s absorbency and application method. This estimate is for a single coat – with three coats, total usage will be higher.

DO I NEED TO DILUTE IT?

Nope – it’s ready to use right out of the container and should not be diluted.

HOW SHOULD I STORE IT?

Keep it at room temperature (or slightly cooler), but always above 41°F (+5°C). Protect from freezing, since this is a water-based varnish.
