Cork thermal insulation panels ThermoKork

Choosing the right thermal insulation panels – whether for a house or an industrial building – can be a real challenge. Many products on the market force you to trade off one benefit for another: some are inexpensive but provide little protection, while others insulate well but are tough to install or lack visual appeal. Still, proper insulation is the smartest way to cut energy costs – keeping warmth indoors during cold winters and preventing spaces from overheating in the summer. ThermoKork insulation panels are designed to solve that problem, combining polyurethane foam with natural cork. This innovative mix delivers efficiency, durability, and an attractive finish that fits modern construction needs.

WHAT EXACTLY ARE THERMOKORK PANELS?

ThermoKork panels are thermal insulation boards designed to keep indoor spaces cooler during hot summers and warmer in cold winters. They’re available in two options: ThermoKork Home – made for everyday household and residential use, and ThermoKork Pro – built for commercial and industrial settings that demand maximum insulation efficiency.

WHAT MATERIALS ARE THESE INSULATION BOARDS MADE FROM?

Each panel features a 3 mm polyurethane foam core (density 400 kg/m³) with both sides laminated in natural cork. Depending on whether you choose the Home or Pro line, the cork thickness varies. With multiple configurations available, it’s easy to find a solution for everything from casual living spaces to demanding industrial environments.

WHY COMBINE FOAM INSIDE AND CORK ON THE OUTSIDE?

Foam and cork have different insulating strengths. When paired together, they deliver performance that goes beyond what either material could achieve alone.

The polyurethane foam, with its extremely low thermal conductivity, locks in warmth during winter months and keeps interiors cooler when it’s hot outside – that’s why it forms the core of the board.

Cork adds another layer of thermal and acoustic protection, while also giving the panel a warm, natural look and a surface that’s pleasant to touch. It works not only as a functional outer layer, but also as a decorative and practical feature – it can even double as a bulletin board for notes and photos.

HOW SHOULD THERMOKORK PANELS BE INSTALLED?

For best results, use a contact adhesive. We recommend the trusted Wakol D-3540, which ensures a strong, long-lasting bond. Before applying, prep the surface carefully – it needs to be clean, dry, and level.

ThermoKork panels are built to perform all year long. In summer, they block out excess heat and help maintain a comfortable indoor temperature, while in winter, they keep warmth in, lowering energy loss and cutting heating demands. Their unique combination of foam and cork not only improves insulation but also adds soundproofing, making rooms quieter and more comfortable.

While they work perfectly in homes and apartments, ThermoKork panels are also an excellent fit for commercial and industrial spaces. The Pro version significantly reduces energy loss in colder months and prevents overheating in summer. They’re widely used in offices, meeting rooms, and retail environments where lowering energy bills and improving comfort are top priorities.

Many insulation panels are purely functional and don’t blend well into interior design – but ThermoKork is different. Thanks to the natural cork finish, these panels bring warmth and style that complements a variety of décor. Plus, the cork surface is practical – it works like a pinboard for notes, reminders, or photos. ThermoKork is therefore more than insulation: it’s functional, decorative, and versatile all at once.
