For a fully functional pinboard, we recommend 5–10 mm cork rolls like these. The 1.5 mm option is simply too thin to grip pins securely.

HOW CAN I CUT CORK ACCURATELY?

CAN I PAINT NATURAL CORK?

Absolutely. If you want the cork to match your décor, you can paint it. We recommend using our cork-safe paints for best results.

WHY SHOULD CORK ACCLIMATE BEFORE INSTALLATION?

Letting cork rest in the room for 72 hours prevents warping and peeling later on. It adjusts naturally to the room’s temperature and humidity, making installation much more reliable.

WHAT’S THE RIGHT WAY TO INSTALL CORK ON A WALL?

We recommend using a quality adhesive like Wakol D-3540 for strong, long-lasting bonding.

 

Here’s the step-by-step process:

  1. Prep the wall: Make sure it’s smooth, dry, clean, and dust-free.
  2. Apply the adhesive: Coat both the cork and the wall using a roller or brush. Usual consumption is 150–250 g/m². 0.8 kg covers approx. 4 m², 2.5 kg covers around 12.5 m².
  3. Let it dry: Wait until the adhesive becomes clear.
  4. Press into place: Attach the cork firmly. Adhesive fully cures within 24 hours.

CAN I USE 1.5 MM CORK ON UNEVEN WALLS?

It’s not recommended. For best results, the wall should be flat and even; cork does not sit well on rough or textured surfaces.

HOW DO I CLEAN CORK PROPERLY?

Cork requires very little upkeep — a dry or slightly damp cloth is usually enough. It’s naturally anti-static, so it won’t attract much dust to begin with.

HOW CAN I PROTECT A CORK WALL?

You can use wood-friendly products like wax, oil, stain, or varnish. For wall use, we recommend our dedicated cork care wax.
