WHY DOES ROLLED CORK NEED TO REST BEFORE INSTALLATION?

Cork is a natural material that adapts to its surroundings. That’s why it should rest for about 72 hours before installation. Skipping this step might lead to curling or lifting later.

WHAT’S THE RIGHT WAY TO INSTALL NATURAL CORK ON A WALL?

A high-quality contact adhesive like Wakol D-3540 is your best option.

 

Here’s a simple guide:

  1. Make sure the wall is smooth, dry, and free of dust—prep work makes all the difference.
  2. Apply adhesive to both the wall and the back of the cork. Wait until the glue turns clear.
  3. Press the cork evenly across the wall.
  4. Allow the adhesive to fully cure—Wakol typically needs about 24 hours.

 

You’ll typically need around 150–250 g/m². That means 0.8 kg covers about 4 m², and 2.5 kg covers around 12.5 m².

CAN YOU APPLY 7MM CORK TO A ROUGH WALL?

We don’t recommend it. You’ll get the best results on clean, flat and dry surfaces.

WHAT’S THE EASIEST WAY TO CLEAN CORK?
