HOW CAN I USE CORK IN A ROLL 7MM?

IS ROLLED CORK A GOOD OPTION FOR A BULLETIN BOARD?

Absolutely — rolled cork works great if you're building a bulletin board from scratch. A thickness between 5–10 mm is ideal for holding pins securely. For extra support, we recommend adding a backing panel such as MDF or a corkboard base.

WHY SHOULD NATURAL CORK REST BEFORE INSTALLATION?

Because cork is a natural material, it needs a little time to adjust to the room’s temperature and humidity. Letting it sit for around 72 hours before installation helps you avoid issues like lifted edges or warping. No matter the size or type of cork, every natural cork product requires this acclimation period.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO INSTALL CORK IN A ROLL ON A WALL?

The simplest and most dependable method is using a contact adhesive such as Wakol D-3540.

 

Quick installation steps:

  1. Make sure the wall is clean, smooth, dry, and dust-free.
  2. Apply adhesive to both the wall and the cork backing. Wait until the glue becomes clear.
  3. Press the cork onto the wall, smoothing it out evenly.
  4. Let it cure fully — Wakol usually reaches full bond strength in about 24 hours.

 

You’ll need roughly 150–250 g/m². So a 0.8 kg container covers around 4 m², while 2.5 kg will handle about 12.5 m².

CAN I INSTALL 7MM CORK ON A TEXTURED WALL?

We don’t recommend it. You’ll get the best bond and the cleanest finish on a smooth, fully dry, and debris-free surface.

HOW DO I KEEP CORK CLEAN THE EASY WAY?

Super easy — cork naturally repels dust because it’s antistatic. Just wipe it occasionally with a soft, slightly damp cloth or give it a gentle dusting.

HOW CAN I CUT 7MM ROLLED CORK NEATLY?

Use a sharp utility knife. Make sure you’re working on a steady, flat surface to get crisp, clean edges.
