Got questions? We’ve got you covered — here’s everything you need to know!

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FINE, MEDIUM, AND COARSE GRAIN CORK?

Fine-grain cork sheets are known for their silky texture, flexibility, and resistance to crumbling. If you need cork for crafting or precision cutting, fine-grain cork is your go-to — its edges hold together better during trimming. It’s ideal for making promotional items, gaskets, coasters, or shoe soles. If you’re after a smooth finish for wall décor, fine-grain cork will serve you well.

Medium-grain cork boards are a fantastic choice for making bulletin boards, display panels, and freestanding partitions. They’re sturdy enough for pinning notes, photos, and reminders with ease.

Coarse-grain cork panels are unmatched when it comes to soundproofing and thermal insulation. Install them on walls or ceilings to create an effective noise and temperature barrier that makes your space more comfortable and peaceful.

CAN YOU INSTALL MEDIUM-GRAIN CORK BOARDS ON THE FLOOR?

For flooring, it's best to opt for a dedicated cork floor or a cork underlayment instead. Medium-grain cork panels aren’t designed to handle foot traffic.

ARE MEDIUM-GRAIN CORK BOARDS AVAILABLE WITH SELF-ADHESIVE BACKING?

Absolutely! Our self-adhesive medium-grain cork sheets make installation even easier. Just peel off the protective layer and stick it directly onto your chosen surface — no extra glue or tools needed!

IMPORTANT: Before installing, please:

#1 Let the cork acclimate for 72 hours in the room where it will be installed. Cork naturally adjusts to ambient conditions, which prevents shrinking, cracking, or peeling later.

The adhesive is only suitable for smooth, clean, flat, and dust-free surfaces like drywall or furniture.

HOW DO CORK PANELS COMPARE IN COST TO OTHER MATERIALS?

At first glance, cork panels might seem pricier compared to other insulation or finishing materials. However, cork is a smart investment that pays off over time. Unlike materials like polystyrene, which degrade quickly and require frequent replacements, cork stays durable — saving you money and hassle in the long run.

CORK PANELS OR CORK ROLLS — WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?

Covering a large surface? Cork rolls are your best bet — they allow you to create seamless surfaces without visible joints. For smaller projects, technical cork boards are more convenient, as they’re ready to use immediately and don’t need flattening after unpacking, unlike cork rolls.

HOW TO BUILD A CORK BULLETIN BOARD USING MEDIUM-DENSITY PANELS?

  1. Choose a cork sheet between 6 mm and 12 mm thick. Back it with a sturdy material like MDF, HDF, or plywood for added support.

  2. Use a pencil to sketch your desired shape. Cut the cork with sharp scissors or a special cork cutter.

  3. Apply contact adhesive evenly across the back. Press firmly to eliminate air bubbles and secure a strong bond.

  4. Let it dry for around 24 hours.

  5. Mount the finished board onto the wall using wall hooks, screws, or double-sided tape — and you're done!

PRO TIP: Seal the edges with water-based varnish to prevent fraying. You can also add a protective frame for extra durability.

CAN YOU USE CORK PANELS ON THE CEILING?

Yes! Cork panels are lightweight, making them an excellent choice for ceiling installation. Just make sure they are securely mounted — you don’t want a cork tile dropping down unexpectedly!

HOW TO INSTALL CORK PANELS ON YOUR WALL?

Mounting cork panels on your wall is a straightforward project you can easily tackle yourself!

  1. Start by thoroughly cleaning the wall to remove dust and debris. A clean surface ensures the adhesive bonds properly.

  2. Wakol D-3540 adhesive is ideal for installing cork panels. You'll need about 120 grams of glue per panel. A 0.8 kg pack covers around 6 panels, and a 2.5 kg bucket covers up to 20 panels.

  3. Apply the adhesive evenly to both the wall and the back of the cork panel. Use a short-nap velvet roller for smooth application.

  4. Wait until the adhesive turns clear on both surfaces before proceeding with installation.

  5. Press the panels onto the wall firmly but gently to ensure good adhesion.

  6. Allow the adhesive to cure fully — Wakol dries completely in about 24 hours.

  7. Make it even easier by using a complete installation kit that includes everything you need for gluing, painting, and sealing cork panels.

  8. Other wood adhesives, especially quick-bond contact glues, can also be used if preferred.

HOW TO CUT MEDIUM-DENSITY CORK?

Use a sharp tool to achieve clean, precise cuts. We recommend a special cork knife for the best results.

CAN FINE-GRAIN CORK SHEETS BE USED IN HUMID AREAS LIKE BATHROOMS?

Absolutely! Medium-grain cork panels perform exceptionally well in spaces with humidity levels between 40% and 60%. Thanks to suberin — a natural component of cork — these panels are highly resistant to moisture and mold. Suberin acts as a waterproof barrier, preventing water absorption and blocking the growth of microorganisms.

HOW TO MAINTAIN CORK PANELS FOR LONG-LASTING PERFORMANCE?

Simply wipe them down using a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the delicate surface of natural cork. For extra protection, you can apply a special waterproof sealant — always choose a water-based varnish safe for cork.

Bring a warm, welcoming atmosphere to your home or office with our premium medium-grain cork panels. Organize your space effortlessly by creating your own custom cork board and experience all the amazing benefits of natural cork!

#1 BEST-IN-CLASS CORK BOARDS

Not all cork boards are created equal. Our medium-grain technical cork sheets offer exceptional durability and flexibility, making them the perfect surface for pinning notes and photos without damage.

Unlike typical supermarket cork boards that wear out quickly, our technical cork boards are built to last. With a wide range of styles and sizes available in our store, you’re sure to find the perfect match for your needs.

#2 BRING WARMTH TO YOUR SPACE

Medium-grain cork offers the ideal balance between elegance and performance. If smooth fine-grain or rough coarse-grain textures aren't your thing, medium-grain cork is the perfect middle ground!

Designed to add a natural, welcoming vibe to your interiors, our cork panels also serve as an attractive decorative insulation solution for your walls.

#3 NATURALLY ANTI-STATIC AND HYPOALLERGENIC

Did you know medium-grain natural cork helps create a healthier environment? Imagine stepping into a room where you don't have to worry about dust or allergies. Thanks to cork’s natural anti-static and hypoallergenic properties, you can keep allergens and airborne particles at bay.

#4 A SUSTAINABLE CHOICE

Choosing medium-grain natural cork means choosing a material that doesn’t harm forests. Harvested from the bark of cork oak trees — which regenerate every 9–12 years — cork allows trees to thrive while absorbing up to five times more CO2 than other species, resulting in a carbon-negative footprint.

What’s more, cork is biodegradable and recyclable — so when your board reaches the end of its life, it can be repurposed into new cork products.

#5 LOW MAINTENANCE, HIGH DURABILITY

Keeping your medium-grain cork board looking fresh is easy. Just wipe it with a damp cloth. Naturally resistant to mold and moisture, cork helps you maintain a clean, healthy living space effortlessly.

Just avoid harsh cleaners like bleach or acetone, as they can damage the cork’s structure and weaken its natural resistance to moisture and mold.
