Got questions? We’ve got answers!

WHERE CAN ROLLED CORK BE USED?

Thin cork rolls (usually between 0.8 and 4 mm) work great for:

  • Wall coverings that are both decorative and functional,
  • Creating pin boards or refreshing bulletin boards,
  • Technical uses like insulation, gaskets, and industrial layers,
  • DIY, hobby, and school projects,
  • Adding a cork veneer to furniture for a fresh look,
  • Crafting custom cork ornaments, tags, or shapes,
  • Making placemats or drink coasters,
  • Adding anti-slip grip under chairs and tables.

ROLLED CORK VS. CORK SHEETS — WHAT’S BEST FOR YOUR PROJECT?

Cork on a roll is perfect when you need to cover larger surfaces — fewer seams and a smooth finish. Be sure to flatten the material before use by unrolling and weighing it down. Cork sheets are more practical for compact or precise work.

IS SELF-ADHESIVE ROLLED CORK AVAILABLE?

Yes! You can also get this product with a self-stick backing for easier installation.

CAN I MAKE A CORKBOARD FROM THIS MATERIAL?

Definitely. For corkboards, a thickness between 5 mm and 10 mm works best for pin holding and durability. Thinner rolls are great for aesthetic layering on larger boards.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO CUT CORK ROLL?

Use a sharp cutting knife or a utility knife (like those used for wallpaper). Just make sure the blade is nice and sharp for clean edges.

IS THIS MATERIAL PAINTABLE?

Absolutely! Rolled cork takes paint really well. For the best finish, go with paint specifically designed for cork.

WHY SHOULD I LET CORK ACCLIMATE BEFORE INSTALLING?

To avoid issues like curling or poor adhesion, let the cork sit in the room for at least 72 hours. That way, it adjusts to the temperature and humidity before you install it.

HOW DO I INSTALL ROLLED CORK ONTO A WALL?

We recommend a contact adhesive like Wakol D-3540 for best results.

  1. Prep the surface: Make sure your wall is clean, dry, and flat.
  2. Apply adhesive: Coat both the wall and the cork backing evenly. You’ll need about 150–250 g/m² — one 0.8 kg container covers about 4 m², and a 2.5 kg tub goes up to 12.5 m².
  3. Wait for clarity: Only proceed when the glue turns transparent.
  4. Mount the cork: Firmly press it to the surface. Full adhesion happens after about 24 hours.

CAN I USE THIS ON A TEXTURED OR UNEVEN WALL?

It’s not recommended. For best adhesion and appearance, stick to smooth and even surfaces. Uneven walls can cause the cork to lift or peel over time.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN ROLLED CORK?

Maintenance is a breeze — just use a soft cloth or lightly damp rag. Cork is naturally antistatic, so it helps resist dust buildup.

IS CORK GOOD FOR KITCHENS OR BATHROOMS?

Yes, as long as the space stays within 40–60% humidity. Just avoid soaking it with water or steam for long periods.

HOW CAN I SEAL OR PROTECT THE SURFACE?

You can apply wood sealants like wax, oil, or varnish for extra protection. For wall applications, try beeswax for cork — it offers lasting coverage.

WHAT IS THE TEXTURE OR GRAIN LIKE?

Rolled cork features a medium grain that’s firm and resilient — perfect for corkboards or any surface where you need durability.

CAN I GET A SAMPLE BEFORE ORDERING?

Absolutely — grab a sample pack to explore the texture, quality, and color before you place a full order.

Tired of walls that get grimy in no time, paint that peels, and home updates that drain your wallet and your patience? It’s amazing how quickly a space can lose its fresh feel — dust builds up, marks appear, sound echoes. What once felt like your personal retreat can turn into a headache. Rolled cork is a smart, natural way to fix that. It’s tough, repels static, and super simple to keep clean.

Black text WHY is it worth it?» with cork on the right on a white background.

#1 EVERYDAY EASE

Life’s busy enough — your walls shouldn’t need constant upkeep. Cork is low-effort and super practical. It naturally resists dust, so a quick wipe now and then is all it takes to keep it looking fresh.

Plus, it works like a sound sponge — no harsh echoes or noise bounce-back. And its look is calming, too. No wild colors, no jarring patterns — just a natural material that soothes the senses. Cork is warm, organic, and nothing like synthetic wall panels or paint.

#2 YOUR SPACE, YOUR WAY

Want a space that reflects your vibe? Rolled cork helps you customize any room. Whether it’s a quiet corner, a relaxed home office, or a cozy hangout zone — cork makes it yours.

It comes in multiple thickness options, so you can use it for soundproofing, pinboards, insulation, or stylish wall designs that actually serve a purpose.

And since it comes in a large roll format, covering bigger walls is quick and seamless — no patchy joins or mismatched seams. From full feature walls to creative built-ins, cork lets you think big.

#3 STAY GROUNDED IN NATURE

These days, eco-conscious choices really matter. It’s not just a trend — it’s a lifestyle. Cork is one of the most sustainable materials out there and a great alternative to plastic-based or chemically treated options.

Each roll is made from the bark of cork oak trees, which regenerates naturally every 9 to 12 years. Harvesting cork doesn't involve cutting down trees — unlike hardwoods often tied to deforestation. Choosing cork is choosing a future. It’s like bringing a piece of Portugal’s forests into your home — without harming the tree it came from.

#4 BUILT TO LAST

Cork doesn’t just look great — it feels great. Compared to tile, vinyl, or drywall, it’s warmer, softer, and more inviting. You’ll notice the difference the moment you touch it.

Even better, cork helps maintain a healthier indoor environment. It balances moisture, resists dust, and contributes to more consistent air quality all year long.

#5 DESIGNED TO DO MORE

Beyond its decorative appeal, rolled cork is a highly functional material with all kinds of technical uses.

It’s easy to cut, shape, and install — perfect for gaskets, anti-slip layers, acoustic barriers, coasters, and components in DIY or construction projects. Whether you're a maker, builder, or just someone who loves practical design, cork fits right in.
