Granulated cork are mechanically processed cork granules, a biproduct of the cork plugs manufacturing process. Cork granules can be divided into: cork dust, granulated cork and scrap cork.
Granulated cork is used in construction as a filling material for diaphragm walls, as well as an ingredient for thermal insulation plaster and light concrete. In sports it is used for manufacturing baseballs, hockey balls and fishing accessories. Other industries use it for making scale models, in manufacturing glass products, as a component for shoe soles production, in production of batteries, rail composites etc.
The lower the specific weight of the cork granules, the higher quality material we received, with better technical specification and visual aspect. Densities available are from 45 to 120 kgs per CBM. Such a range is needed for the variety of applications of the cork in different lines of business. The standard ones are: 0.5-1mm, 1-2mm, 2-3mm, 3-5mm and 3-7mm.
