No. Europa PB features a naturally varied, irregular pattern. Because the pattern does not repeat exactly, individual panels may differ slightly from one another. Once installed, these natural variations help give the wall a distinctive appearance rather than the uniform look of a mass-produced surface.

SHOULD WALL CORK BE ACCLIMATED BEFORE INSTALLATION?

Yes. Proper acclimation is an important part of preparing decorative cork for installation. Keep the panels in the room where they will be installed for 72 hours before beginning the project. This allows the material to adjust to the conditions in the room and helps reduce the risk of warping or the cork pulling away from the wall after installation.

HOW DO YOU INSTALL EUROPA PB CORK WALL PANELS?

  1. Prepare the surface: Start with a wall that is smooth, level, clean, and free of dust, grease, and other contaminants that could interfere with adhesion.
  2. Acclimate the cork: Place the Europa PB panels in the installation room for 72 hours before mounting them. Allowing the cork to adjust to the indoor environment helps minimize the possibility of warping or separation from the wall.
  3. Select the proper adhesive: We recommend Wakol D-3540 contact adhesive. Typical coverage requires approximately 150–250 g/m². A 0.8 kg container covers about 4 m², while a 2.5 kg container is sufficient for approximately 12.5 m².
  4. Spread the adhesive: Using a velour roller, apply an even coat of adhesive to both the prepared wall and the back of each cork panel. Allow the adhesive to become transparent before joining the surfaces.
  5. Position and secure the panels: Carefully place each cork panel in position and press it firmly against the wall to ensure proper contact. Work precisely to prevent the panels from shifting during installation.
  6. Allow the adhesive to cure: Give the installation approximately 24 hours to dry completely. Avoid moving, adjusting, or placing pressure on the panels while the adhesive is curing.

CAN EUROPA PB CORK PANELS BE INSTALLED ON AN UNEVEN SURFACE?

Installing decorative cork directly over an uneven wall is not recommended. An irregular surface can prevent proper adhesive contact, which may lead to installation difficulties or cause sections of the cork to separate from the wall. For the best results, install wall cork on a smooth, flat, and properly prepared surface.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN DECORATIVE CORK WALLS?

Routine maintenance is simple and does not require specialized cleaning products. Dust and minor surface dirt can usually be removed with a soft cloth, a duster, or a cloth that has been lightly dampened with water.

For stains, begin with a mild cleaning solution and only a small amount of water. Do not use acetone, chlorine-based products, harsh detergents, or aggressive scrubbing. Strong chemicals and excessive abrasion may affect the finish or cause discoloration.

CAN EUROPA PB CORK PANELS BE TRIMMED DURING INSTALLATION?

Yes. Europa PB panels can be cut as needed to accommodate wall dimensions, corners, electrical outlets, and other architectural details. For a clean and accurate edge, use a sharp utility knife together with a metal straightedge. Cut on a firm, stable surface and make several controlled, shallow passes instead of attempting to cut through the material in a single deep stroke.
